Job summary

Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital is seeking a dedicated Facilities Custodian to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients, clients, and staff. The role involves daily cleaning across exam rooms, kennels, and common areas, with weekly/monthly tasks and strict infection-control protocols.

This is an on-site position with full-time or part-time evening hours, weekend coverage, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and manage time across a full cleaning checklist.
• Ability to read and follow product labels, Safety Data Sheets, and written cleaning protocols.
• Comfort around dogs, cats, and other animals, including anxious or reactive patients.
• Reliable transportation and a consistent attendance record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and any NVA onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, and mop all floors in patient, client, and staff areas daily.
• Disinfect exam tables, counters, high-touch surfaces, and restrooms.
• Tidy lobby and reception areas; wipe glass, doors, and seating.
• Clean and disinfect kennels, cat condos, and runs after discharge.
• Empty trash, recycling, and laundry; manage waste as directed.
• Clean break room and staff kitchen; launder clinic linens when needed.
• Deep clean floors/baseboards in patient-care areas; spot-clean walls/doors.
• Dust vents, shelves, and equipment exteriors; clean windows and interior glass.
