Job summary

Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join a fast-paced practice with exam, treatment, and surgery roles. You will gather history, assist doctors, perform radiographs, lab work, and monitor anesthesia in surgery while maintaining electronic medical records with the team.

The role requires 1-3 years veterinary experience (preferred), strong communication, and reliability. Shifts are 10 hours, with nights and weekends as needed; EZyVet experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Exam room: Get patient history from clients, assist the doctor during exams, and educate clients on their pet's care. Give injections as directed.
• Treatment room: Perform treatments as directed by the doctors. Take digital radiographs, prepare samples to send to outside laboratories, and run in-house bloodwork.
• Surgery: Prepare patients for surgery and help monitor anesthesia.
• Records and teamwork: Document in our electronic medical records, and work well with team members at every level of the hospital.
