Job summary

Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Facilities Custodian to keep our hospital clean, sanitary, and safe for patients, clients, and staff. Work a full cleaning checklist with daily tasks and monthly deep-clean responsibilities in Gardnerville, NV.

The role involves hospital-grade cleaning, infection-control compliance, and the ability to work evenings (7:00 PM–11:00 PM) with weekend coverage. A pre-employment background check and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and manage time across a full cleaning checklist.
• Ability to read and follow product labels, Safety Data Sheets, and written cleaning protocols.
• Comfort around dogs, cats, and other animals, including anxious or reactive patients.
• Reliable transportation and a consistent attendance record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, mop all floors including exam rooms and wards daily.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces and fixtures between appointments.
• Restock and sanitize restrooms and kitchen areas.
• Keep lobby and entryways tidy; wipe glass, doors and seating.
• Sanitize kennels, cat condos, and runs after discharge per hospital protocols.
• Empty trash, recycling, and laundry; manage waste per designated areas.
• Clean and disinfect laundry, break room, and staff areas; handle clinic laundry.
• Deep clean floors and baseboards; spot-clean walls and doors.
