Job summary

The dispatcher orchestrates the coordination for all transportation services to the client and their guests/patients. Under the direction of the Transportation Manager, the Dispatcher has additional duties involving coordination and administration, as well as providing troubleshooting and/or guidance when the manager is not on-site.

The Dispatcher is not a manager; however they may handle critical issues and may be required to make judgment calls when expediency is priority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Wheelchair Safety Training course completed as applicable.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training; customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ADA, DOT and state transportation regulations; ability to use maps, GPS, two-way radios; basic Excel/Word.
• Ability to perform basic math, understand 24-hour/time formats, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Dispatches vehicles in alignment with routes and schedules to meet client needs.
• Protects guest confidentiality and handles sensitive passenger information.
• Maintains schedules and completes driver trip logs, vehicle logs, and written dispatch orders.
