Job summary

Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center Mercy 5N Surgical Telemetry unit is seeking a Registered Nurse for a part-time night shift (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.). The RN provides patient-centered care, collaborates with the care team, and follows the nursing process across the continuum of care.

Minimum requirements include graduation from a Board of Nursing approved program and an active RN license with BLS. Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience is expected; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensed with privileges to practice where the client is located.
• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active BLS certification required; further certifications based on specialty.

Responsibilities

• Engage in governance and quality initiatives to improve care.
• Apply nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, evaluate care.
• Monitor patient conditions; adjust plans; collaborate with care team.
• Maintain patient safety; document accurately in EHR.
• Float to other units as needed to meet patient care needs.
• Provide age-appropriate care and communicate effectively with patients and families.
