Job summary

Blue Devil Swim Club in Gurnee, IL is seeking a part-time Swim Coach to lead group practices for young swimmers, develop training plans, and foster a positive, motivating environment. Evenings and some weekends provide flexible scheduling; candidates should have prior coaching or lesson experience, good communication with swimmers and parents, and strong behavior management.

Qualifications

Prior swim coach or swim lesson experience.
Background in swimming preferred.
Experience working with children.
Strong behavior management skills to create a positive learning environment.
Good communication with swimmers, parents and other coaches.

Responsibilities

Lead group practices, ensuring safety and proper technique at all times.
Monitor swimmer progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust coaching strategies accordingly
Enforce safety protocols, including lifeguard responsibilities, to maintain a secure environment for all participants
Incorporate fun and engaging activities to motivate swimmers and promote a love for the sport
Manage behavior and foster a respectful atmosphere among students of diverse ages and backgrounds
Collaborate with other coaches to ensure same messaging across the club.
