Job summary

Hello Neighbor in Pittsburgh is seeking a Lead Counselor for the Study Buddy program to support refugee youth with online tutoring and community activities. This limited-term, part-time role combines in-person and remote sessions with scheduling 5-8 pm on Tue/Wed/Thu.

You will train volunteers, coordinate loaner Chromebooks, track attendance, and help plan events. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, bilingual or multilingual abilities preferred, and a valid US work authorization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual or multilingual preferred (Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Spanish).
• Experience working with youth and diverse communities is valued.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Study Buddy tutoring sessions and create engaging virtual environments.
• Interview and onboard new volunteer tutors.
• Plan orientation and coordinate loaner Chromebooks for students.
• Communicate with students, tutors, and families; send reminders.
• Assist with recruitment of tutors and students; coordinate events and activities.
