Job summary

Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN is seeking an Instrument Processing Technician to join the sterile processing team. The role entails handling, cleaning, disinfecting, assembling, and sterilizing instrumentation and patient equipment to ensure safety for use.

Responsibilities span sterilization, decontamination, and instrumentation, with a Monday–Friday evening schedule (3:00–11:30 p.m.) and rotating weekends/holidays by seniority. The full salary range is $23.92–$33.52 per hour, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or higher (or related certificate).
• Certificate of completion for a Central Service Technician (preferred).
• Enrollment in an associate degree program with completion of a clinical internship in sterile processing.

Responsibilities

• Sterilization: loads/unloads and operates sterilizers; maintains sterility; records sterilization data.
• Decontamination: cleans and prepares instruments; organizes instrument sets; performs washing/ultrasonic cleaning.
• Instrumentation: inspects, reassembles, and prepares instrument sets; ensures proper containerization and queue for sterilization.
