Job summary

Health First is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, assemble, inspect and sterilize instrumentation for surgical procedures. You will provide timely supplies to patient care areas and support OR teams with accurate case carts and instrument sets.

The role requires adherence to HSPA, CBSPD, AAMI and AORN standards, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. Evening shifts and full-time status accompany competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Strong critical thinking to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read, understand and apply HSPA, CBSPD, AAMI and AORN standards and manufacturer’s instructions for equipment use.
• Ability to flex work hours including on-call rotation, weekend and state of emergency coverage.

Responsibilities

• Process instrumentation and equipment following policy using aseptic technique and standards.
• Decontaminate, assemble, package, sterilize and distribute instrumentation per IFU.
• Navigate surgical software programs (Censitrac, SCM, SSC, Orchestrate).
• Advise clinical staff on instrumentation and equipment availability and delivery timing.
• Coordinate with OR leadership to ensure adequate instrumentation for daily volume and maintain records of charges.
• Assemble routine and specialty instrumentation and case carts per pick lists and counts.
• Perform quality control and troubleshooting of sterilization equipment; ensure regulatory compliance.
