Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is looking for a Sterile Processing Technician to join our team in Boston, MA. You will assemble, decontaminate, and sterilize instruments, ensuring readiness for surgical procedures.

Responsibilities include maintaining decontamination workflows, documenting processing steps, and supporting clinical teams with efficient instrument supply and safe handling. Schedules are in the afternoon/evening shift with opportunities for growth within the Sterile Processing

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two years of Sterile Processing experience.
CRCST or CSPDT certification required.

Responsibilities

Transports and restocks surgical instrumentation and materials within surgical suites and SPD.
Receives, sorts, cleans, and decontaminates soiled instruments and equipment, logging items received.
Operates cleaning and decontamination equipment such as washers, reprocessors, and pasteurizers.
Inspects, prepares, sterilizes instruments following guidelines.
Loads, programs, and monitors sterilizers during cycles.
Manages telephone communications and directs complex inquiries to supervisors.
Provides departmental leadership in the absence of senior staff and organizes daily operations.
Addresses customer requests, resolves issues, and completes shift reports.
