Job summary

Southeast Steel Systems, part of Steel Building Systems, seeks dependable Metal Fabrication & Assembly Technicians for the second shift in Adel, Georgia. You will fabricate, assemble, and inspect steel components, read instructions and drawings, and help with painting and finishing as needed.

Candidates should have a background in steel fabrication or similar manufacturing, with ability to use tools and follow safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with steel fabrication and assembly.
• Must be able to work the assigned second shift schedule exclusively, from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, prepare, and handle steel components according to production specifications.
• Operate metal fabrication equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other machinery safely.
• Read and interpret work orders, measurements, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Assist with welding preparation, grinding, cutting, drilling, fitting, and assembly as assigned.
• Assist with surface preparation, painting, and finishing processes as needed.
• Inspect materials and finished products for quality, accuracy, and defects.
• Verify that components meet required measurements and production standards.
• Safely move, organize, load, and unload steel materials and finished products.
• Assist with staging and preparing completed components for shipping.
• Follow established safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized production areas.
• Report equipment issues, damaged materials, and quality concerns to the shift supervisor.
• Work with production team members to achieve daily manufacturing goals.
• Perform other related shop and production duties as assigned.
