Job summary

Qualifications

• No minimum experience required.
• Two years of experience with laboratory specimen processing or phlebotomy
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in an applied science (biology, chemistry, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Enters orders and receives all specimens in Laboratory Information System (LIS). Processes specimens based on testing requirements.
• Uses critical thinking to determine appropriateness of specimens.
• Prepares send-out requisitions and samples for referral testing; ensures requisitions meet guidelines.
• Manages workflow in pre-analytical areas, front office, and specimen processing.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and work area; ensures a safe and professional environment.
• Follows hospital policies; performs quality assurance and logs issues.
• Promotes Lean culture and continuous process improvements.
