Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is hiring a Specimen Processor for the BioCenter evening shift (8:00 PM–4:30 AM, M-F with rotating weekends and on-call). Training starts on the morning shift (6:00–7:00 AM) for 3–4 weeks before moving to nights.

Responsibilities include processing specimens, entering data in LIS, ensuring correct routing and labeling, maintaining specimen integrity, and supporting quality goals.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• One year of clinical/hospital laboratory experience or active MLT certification.
• Evening shift availability with rotating weekends and on-call.

Responsibilities

• Process laboratory specimens accurately and route to the correct department.
• Enter specimen information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Maintain specimen labeling and documentation to ensure traceability and integrity.
• Support quality improvement and maintain patient confidentiality.
