Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring SPD Technician I or II for the Worcester campus. The role includes decontamination, inspection/assembly, and sterilization of instruments, with strict safety and infection control practices.

The position offers an evening shift (2:45pm-11:15pm), 40 hours per week, on-site in Worcester, MA, with a $3,000 sign-on bonus and a starting wage range of $22.25–$37.27 per hour. Certification within one year is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sterilization standards and terminology.
• Proficiency with basic computer functions.
• Either completion of CSP program or enrollment ongoing with certification deadline in 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination of instruments and devices following policy and IFU guidance.
• Inspect, assemble, and record instruments and equipment per procedure.
• Carry out sterilization or high-level disinfection (HLD) cycles and monitor testing.
• Maintain sterile storage with inventory, rotation and distribution.
