Job summary

Jefferson Health seeks a SPD Process Tech (Evenings) to perform decontamination, tray assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments for the Operating Room and other departments requiring reprocessing of instrumentation. Weekend evening shifts are scheduled, with responsibilities including cleaning, disassembly, reassembly, and packaging per policy.

The role uses Abacus Instrument Tracking System for tray assembly and requires good communication with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of certified sterile processing technician training program.
• Minimum 6 months of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, disassembles, sorts, decontaminates, reassembles, packages and sterilizes reusable surgical instrumentation following manufacturer guidelines and department policy.
• Operates automated washers, cart washers, ultrasonic washers, and sterilizers safely and efficiently.
