Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. invites applications for a Sterile Processing Technician to support decontamination, tray assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments across the Operating Room and other areas requiring reprocessing.

The role requires CRCST certification and a high school diploma or equivalent, with 6 months of experience preferred. The position is a Weekend Day shift within a regular employee role, located at 111 S 11th Street, Philadelphia, PA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a certified sterile processing technician training program.
• CRCST Required.
• Provisional CRCST certifications are not eligible.
• Minimum 6 months of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Skill in the decontamination, tray assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments for the Operating Room and other departments requiring the reprocessing of surgical instrumentation.
• Cleans, disassembles, sorts, decontaminates, reassembles, packages and sterilizes reusable surgical instrumentation following manufacturer's guidelines and departmental policy and procedure.
• Operates automated washers, cart washers, ultrasonic washers, and sterilizers in a safe and efficient manner following manufacturers' written instructions and department policy and procedure.
• Uses the Abacus Instrument Tracking System in the assembly of surgical trays and peel pouched items.
