Job summary

Jefferson Health Plans is seeking a qualified sterile processing technician to support the operating room and related departments in reprocessing surgical instruments. The role emphasizes adherence to manufacturer guidelines, safety procedures, and accurate tray assembly.

The candidate should have a high school diploma and completion of a certified sterile processing program, with at least six months of experience preferred. Evening weekend shift hours are described in the posting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of certified sterile processing technician training program.
• Minimum 6 months of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, disassembles, sorts, decontaminates, reassembles, packages and sterilizes reusable surgical instrumentation following manufacturer’s guidelines and departmental policy and procedure.
• Operates automated washers, cart washers, ultrasonic washers, and sterilizers in a safe and efficient manner following manufacturers’ written instructions and department policy and procedure.
• Uses the Abacus Instrument Tracking System in the assembly of surgical trays and peel pouched items.
• Demonstrates good communication skills, verbal and non-verbal, when interacting with internal and external customers.
