Job summary

Reliance, Inc. seeks a Skid Fabricator in Middletown, OH to build custom-size wooden skids and pallets for metal products. You will measure, cut, nail, and assemble using pneumatic tools and an up-cut saw, following precise dimensions and drawings.

The role requires comfortable handling lumber, maintaining safety procedures, and keeping the work area organized. Prior woodworking or pallet shop experience is a plus; valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Experience building pallets, skids, crates, or other wooden structures preferred.
• Experience with power tools and pneumatic equipment preferred.
• Previous experience in skid/pallet shop, woodworking, construction, manufacturing, or similar environment preferred.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License.
• Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Clear oral and written communication skills, legible handwriting required.
• Manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination required.
• Basic measurement skills and basic math computations required.

Responsibilities

• Build custom-size wooden skids according to specified dimensions and production requirements.
• Accurately measure and mark lumber using a tape measure.
• Operate a pneumatic nail gun to assemble skids.
• Operate an up-cut saw to cut lumber to required lengths.
• Follow drawings and instructions to build skids to specifications.
• Inspect completed skids to ensure proper assembly and dimensions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Safely operate hand tools and power equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Report damaged tools or unsafe conditions to management.
• Assist with moving lumber and skids as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
