Job Summary
4 -10 hour days Monday - Thursday 1pm - 11pm
The Skid Fabricator is responsible for building custom-size wooden skids and pallets used to support and transport metal products. This position requires someone who is comfortable working with lumber, using power tools, and accurately measuring and building skids to specified dimensions.

Job Function
- Build custom-size wooden skids according to specified dimensions and production requirements.
- Accurately measure and mark lumber using a tape measure.
- Operate a pneumatic nail gun to assemble skids.
- Operate an up-cut saw to cut lumber to the required lengths.
- Select and prepare lumber for skid construction.
- Follow drawings, measurements, or verbal instructions to build skids to the correct specifications.
- Inspect completed skids to ensure they are properly assembled, secure, and meet required dimensions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Safely operate hand tools and power equipment.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including required PPE and safe operating practices.
- Report damaged tools, equipment, unsafe conditions, or material issues to management.
- Assist with moving and organizing lumber and completed skids as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Responsible for adhering to all safety protocols.

Required Skills
- Experience building pallets, skids, crates, or other wooden structures preferred.
- Experience working with power tools and pneumatic equipment preferred.
- Previous experience in a skid/pallet shop, woodworking, construction, manufacturing, or a similar environment preferred.
- High School diploma/GED preferred.
- Must possess a valid Drivers License.
- Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure required.
- Clear oral and written communication skills, particularly legible handwriting required.
- Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination required.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations required.Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly required.
