Job summary

UCLA Extension is seeking an experienced Instructor to teach digital representation and 3D modeling for landscape architecture, focusing on SketchUp and Rhino 3D. You will translate designs into professional models and renderings for a diverse student body.

The role requires prior teaching experience with SketchUp/Rhino, in a landscape architecture context, and up-to-date software knowledge. Courses run 6–11 weeks, evenings, with hybrid or remote options.

Qualifications

• BLA/BSLA/MLA/MSLA/M.Arch/B.Arch graduate or UCLA Extension Landscape Architecture certificate graduate.
• Current landscape architect or architect license preferred.
• Committed to high academic standards and integrity.
• Strong oral and written communication; interpersonal skills.
• Active affiliation with professional associations encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Develop or update syllabi and modules with program staff.
• Deliver course materials and rubrics with clear instructions.
• Use Canvas for online, in-person and hybrid delivery.
• Communicate course objectives and learning outcomes; review grading policies.
• Evaluate student achievement and post final grades within 2 weeks.
• Maintain communication with Program Director and Program Manager.
