Job summary

Work hours are 3pm–11pm, with regular on-site attendance and overtime as required. Reports to the General Foreman; travel and ability to operate a company vehicle may be needed.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge in all facets of ship repair.
• Working knowledge of contracting and estimating procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of production processes, methods, quality, and technology.
• Effective leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Proven ability in people environment.
• Capable in Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

• On-site deck-plate team lead for the trade, supervising 8-30 mechanics and subcontractors.
• Plan manpower requirements and communicate resource needs to the General Foreman.
• Review schedules and develop 1–2 week plans for the team; report progress.
• Develop daily work assignments and set performance expectations.
• Review and document employee performance; ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Attend daily production meetings and coordinate with other shops to meet goals.
• Monitor rework trends and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in development of standard/best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage workforce performance and enforce company rules; handle disciplinary actions as needed.
