Job summary

MercyOne Health System in Dubuque is seeking a dedicated housekeeper to maintain a clean and safe environment across patient and non-patient areas. You will follow routine cleaning procedures and assist in maintaining hospital standards.

This full-time evening shift position requires basic high school education, prior janitorial experience preferred, and the ability to work with hospital staff. Training will be provided to ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial and cleaning experience preferred.
• Must be able to work with housekeeping chemicals and equipment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with all members of the health care team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean patient rooms and discharge units to meet hospital standards.
• Maintains clean office/ancillary areas. Audits are done frequently for Quality Control.
• Has knowledge of and is able to differentiate between isolations. Performs special isolation cleaning according to established procedures as required.
• Maintain a clean cart, equipment, and janitor closet/storage areas.
• Replenish supplies of soap, tissues, towels, disposable items and other items as needed.
• Responsible for reporting the need for repair of equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures to appropriate person.
