Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a housekeeping staff member to perform environmental cleaning and maintenance in hospital areas. You will move furniture, operate cleaning equipment, and ensure a sanitary environment for patients and staff.

Applicants with a High School Diploma or GED are preferred; no specific license is required. A signing bonus may be available, and the team values respect and teamwork across all roles.

Qualifications

• Evening shift availability and ability to work in a hospital setting.
• Experience cleaning in a healthcare environment preferred.
• No certification/licensing required, substitution by experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Loads service cart with appropriate materials and supplies for assigned area.
• Operates and cleans various types of cleaning equipment (mechanical and electrical).
• Cleans operating suites using germicidal cleaning solutions and arranges furniture and equipment.
• Cleans patient rooms, observing isolation techniques and ensuring a safe, clean environment.
• Cleans assigned areas including walls, doors, ceilings, fixtures, and windows.
