Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a non-exempt housekeeping associate to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment across patient rooms and common areas. You will support cleaning operations and ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards.

Daily duties include operating cleaning equipment, moving supplies, and assisting in maintaining a sanitary, comfortable setting for patients, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Healthcare cleaning experience required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Load service cart with materials and supplies for the assigned area.
• Operate and clean cleaning equipment (mechanical and electrical).
• Clean operating suites with germicidal solutions and arrange furniture and equipment.
• Sanitize patient rooms following isolation techniques and maintain a safe environment.
• Clean walls, doors, ceilings, fixtures, and windows in assigned areas.
• Climb ladders to reach high areas and follow safety procedures.
• Move and distribute linen; maintain linen closet cleanliness.
• Vacuum floors and clean carpets; maintain floors and baseboards.
