Job summary

Catholic Charities of Onondaga County is seeking an Overnight Shift Leader to supervise and support shelter staff while enforcing program policies. The role includes managing scheduling, ensuring coverage, and maintaining safety and order during evening hours.

The position requires a HS diploma or GED with 3 years of relevant experience; valid NYS driver's license is preferred and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with a specific population is preferred.
• Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support staff while adhering to shelter policies and procedures.
• Serve as main point of contact for scheduling concerns, oversee shift schedule, and coordinate staff coverage.
• Monitor staff performance, handle conflicts per program guidelines, and respond to client/shelter emergencies.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, update the Nightly Shelter Log, and facilitate communication with other shift supervisors and the Program Manager.
• Serve as a professional role model for staff and participants in the program.
