Job summary

The Courtyard Portland City Center, part of Sage Restaurant Group, is seeking an on-call PM Server to deliver prompt and courteous food service in a lively dining room. You will greet guests, take orders, and ensure accuracy of checks while maintaining a welcoming, professional appearance.

Responsibilities include memorizing menu items, assisting guests with special requests, and upholding cleanliness standards in all dining areas.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of customer service principles and restaurant operations.
• Familiarity with standard cash-handling procedures.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Good vision and manual coordination for handling orders and trays.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and take food and drink orders, serving them promptly.
• Maintain attentive service and adherence to standards throughout dining experience.
• Perform opening/closing sidework and restocking tasks.
• Memorize menu items and specials to answer customer questions and make recommendations.
• Ensure cleanliness of the restaurant, waitstation, and service areas.
• Handle guest checks and payments accurately and securely.
• Attend pre-meal and departmental meetings to stay informed.
• Respond to inquiries with timely, knowledgeable information.
