Job summary

Auburn High School in Montgomery County Public Schools, VA, is hiring an Evening Senior Custodian for the 2026-2027 school year. The role oversees cleaning, supplies, and maintenance to keep the building safe for students and staff.

The Senior Custodian will open/close the school, manage inventory, and perform seasonal tasks, with duties assigned by the Principal or Custodial Services Manager. Candidates must meet minimum qualifications and may have preferred supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength.
• Ability to read basic operating instructions and complete inventory/requisition forms.
• Ability to cooperate with other staff and adapt to changes in work environment.
• Ability to respond to emergencies in support of school operations.
• Physically able to lift heavy objects (40+ lbs) as needed.

Responsibilities

• Stock and order supplies; complete seasonal tasks.
