Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Security Operator to join the Physical Security team in Pullman, WA. This swing shift position (Mon-Fri, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm) combines customer service with security vigilance to help keep SEL safe and secure.

A typical day includes observing security policies, maintaining documentation, auditing compliance, and monitoring alarms, with teamwork and communication as core requirements.

Qualifications

• Related associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Strong oral and written communication for reports and materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service while observing SEL security policies and culture.
• Create and maintain security documentation as required and perform compliance audits.
• Monitor alarms, assess the security implications of incidents, and respond appropriately.
