Job summary

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Security Officer (22-hours) to work evenings. In-office role with essential duties to safeguard staff, property and assets. Start mid-December 2026; end of April 2027; hourly pay $25.72–$32.45.

Responsibilities include patrols, access control, video review, escorts, and reporting. Candidates should have two years in security and meet licensure and certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience protecting persons or property or enforcing security regulations.
• Knowledge of physical security systems, emergency responses, traffic and crowd control, fire prevention and security.
• Computers and technology in area of security; strong written and oral communication.
• Substitutions allowed: college training in criminal justice may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned facilities and monitor security and alarms systems.
• Operate access systems and security console equipment.
• Review video and artifacts when approved.
• Provide security escorts for visitors, contractors and employees.
• Protect buildings and parking areas at CLC properties.
• Investigate complaints and maintain records; refer to higher authority when needed.
• Assist in investigations of crimes, trespass, damage or disorderly conduct on property.
• Maintain daily activity logs and complete required reports.
• Assist in intake or referral of investigations of incidents.
• Oversee destruction of tickets and related paperwork.
• Respond to alarms, power outages and other facility issues.
• Implement evacuation activities and threat procedures.
• Performs related duties as required.
