Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for full-time customer service patrol in Southfield, MI. You will perform unarmed patrols, monitor access, respond to incidents, and support site-specific policies.

The role emphasizes customer service, strong observation, and adherence to procedures. A high school diploma and background check are required; CPR is preferred; 18+ for unarmed roles. Pay rate is $15.00/hour with scheduled shifts Mon-Fri 3:00 PM–11:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and promptly reporting observations to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials as directed, document visitor and contractor activity, and help maintain accurate daily activity reports.
• Observe and report potential hazards, damaged equipment, unsecured areas, or policy violations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
