Richmond Middle School in Hanover, NH is seeking a Custodian for the 2nd shift, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The role provides a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for students and staff.

Starting date is 4/6/2026. Pay range is $19.30–$28.04 per hour, depending on experience. This is a full-time, year-round, non-exempt position with duties including general building upkeep and safety checks.

Qualifications

• A high school degree or a GED or five years experience is the minimum requirement.

Responsibilities

• Keep the building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Regulate heat and ventilation to maintain appropriate temperatures and conserve energy.
• Shovel, sand, or treat walks as needed and call Grounds Office when needed.
• Check that exit doors are unlocked in the morning and secure after start.
• Inspect panic bars and ensure they work properly.
• Clean floors in classrooms by vacuuming, sweeping or mopping.
• Clean corridors after school or as needed.
• Disinfect rest room floors daily and clean fixtures and drinking fountains.
• Wash windows inside and outside at least twice a year.
• Move furniture as directed by the Administrator.
• Dispose of trash and recycling; follow MSDS guidelines.
• Perform general maintenance and report repairs promptly.
