Job summary

Cabarrus County Schools in Mount Pleasant, NC is seeking a dedicated 26/27 High School Custodian for the evening shift. You will perform custodial tasks to maintain clean, safe school facilities, including floors, bathrooms, and common areas, with light groundskeeping as needed.

Candidates should have a basic high school diploma or equivalent and a reliable attendance record. A valid North Carolina driver’s license is required; duties include opening/closing buildings and adjusting climate

Qualifications

• General knowledge of janitorial methods, materials and equipment.
• Basic cleaning procedures and materials knowledge.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships.
• Proven attendance record.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep sidewalks and grounds, pick up debris and manage snow/ice as needed.
• Clean floors: sweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax and buff.
• Clean bathrooms and ensure supplies are stocked and disinfected.
• Empty trash and sort recycling.
• Dust furniture, walls, and window sills; clean windows and fixtures.
• Move furniture and set up spaces as required.
• Open/close buildings and adjust lights/heating, when needed.
• Organize storage and unload deliveries.
