Job summary

Cabarrus County School District Mt. Pleasant High in Mount Pleasant, NC seeks a Temporary Custodian to perform general custodial and light groundskeeping duties.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors, bathrooms, and fixtures; dusting, trash removal, and basic equipment handling under supervision; and assisting with setup and securing buildings. The role requires knowledge of janitorial methods, ability to follow instructions and demonstrate reliability with attendance.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of janitorial methods, materials, and equipment.
• Some knowledge of cleaning procedures and cleaning materials.
• Ability to follow instructions and exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Has proven attendance record.

Responsibilities

• Sweep sidewalks and grounds, police grounds, remove debris; shovel snow and apply de-icing as needed.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax and buff floors.
• Clean bathrooms, restrooms, fixtures and disinfect as needed.
• Empty trash, recycle appropriately, and organize storage areas.
• Move furniture as required; open/secure buildings and adjust climate controls as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance on appliances within capabilities.
