Job summary

Marlborough Public Schools is hiring a Custodian - Houseworker for the 1LT Charles W. Whitcomb School in Marlborough, MA. This evening shift role runs Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with a 4-6 week training period and year-round employment for the 2026-2027 school year.

Salary is per the Custodial Salary Scale starting at $50,158 with $50,158 base in FY27 and a nightly differential of 7%, plus a raise after 6 months of service. Start date is immediate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Ability to understand spoken and written English.
• Physical and mental capabilities to perform the work.
• Such alternatives as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Preserve property values and protect health and safety of occupants.
• Support the educational objectives of the building and provide a climate of learning.
• Develop goodwill and maintain cleanliness and neatness.
• Grounds upkeep and snow removal.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Principal, Superintendent or Custodial Supervisor.
