Job summary

The Southwest DuPage School Recruitment Consortium is seeking a custodian to clean and maintain school facilities to support a healthy learning environment. The role runs 2pm to 10:30pm, with responsibilities including daily cleaning, waste removal, window washing, and ensuring all doors and security measures are properly managed.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Strong work ethic required.
• Approved background check.
• Candidates must possess strong collaborative, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively, understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and interact positively with a variety of ages and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently, engage with the public, and communicate with District administration and staff, while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain facilities to ensure a healthy learning environment.
• Empty waste baskets daily and maintain cleanliness of chalkboards and whiteboards.
• Dust window sills and countertops; sweep, mop and vacuum floors.
• Ensure doors are secure and security policy followed during occupancy hours.
• Washes windows and maintains grounds; report damages to supervisors.
• Move furniture as needed for cleaning and events; assist with daily operations.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and request replacements in advance.
