Job summary

Derby Public Schools is seeking an evening shift custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds. The role reports to the Principal, Director of Facilities, and Business Manager, with tasks ranging from securing the building to cleaning and light maintenance.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma, fluency in English, and prior cleaning experience. The position may involve snow removal, deliveries, and assisting with events as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Experience in building and cleaning desirable.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure building at start and end of shift.
• Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices to district standards.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors; clean carpets and furniture.
• Wash walls, windows, doors; remove graffiti and clean glass areas.
• Set up and break down chairs, tables and equipment for meetings.
