Job summary

Norfolk County Agricultural High School in Walpole, Massachusetts seeks a reliable Long Term Substitute Custodian to perform cleaning, maintenance and security tasks for the school buildings. Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work in a caring, positive, constructive and cooperative manner with students, staff, administrators, parents, volunteers and all others.
• Dependability in attendance, work ethic, consistent high quality work and productivity.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with people effectively.
• Be a role model for students and the general public at large.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to workshops, meetings, or other necessary functions.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed, including weekends.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean rooms, corridors, offices and other spaces of a county owned or operated school building or buildings.
• Painting when necessary.
• Clean, wax, polish, and buff floors.
• Wash windows, woodwork, toilets, lavatories, walls, washrooms and fixtures; dusts and polishes furniture; vacuum rugs.
• Empty and clean trash baskets and other waste receptacles.
• Handle supplies and materials arriving at or departing from buildings.
• Move furniture and set up for programs.
• Lock and unlock premises and perform other security tasks such as watchman rounds to guard against fire, theft and vandalism.
• Sweep, sand, clean and shovel snow from stairs and walks.
