Job summary

Qualifications

• Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent training/experience.
• Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to interact appropriately and professionally with students, staff, parents, and visitors.
• Ability to safely operate custodial equipment and use cleaning products.
• Meets or obtains a NJ Black Seal Low-Pressure Boiler License within one year of employment and maintains thereafter.
• Criminal history background check and I-9 employment-authorization verification.
• Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Chief School Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Cleans, dusts, and disinfects classrooms, offices, library, and other areas daily.
• Empty trash and recycling and dispose of waste properly daily.
• Cleans corridors after each school day and as needed.
• Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms daily and replenishes supplies.
• Cleans windows on both the inside and outside as scheduled.
• Maintains floors by cleaning, stripping, sanding, and waxing as needed.
• Performs minor painting and maintenance tasks and reports major repairs.
