Job summary

Cranbury Township School District seeks a Custodian/Maintenance staff to keep a safe, clean school environment and perform building and grounds tasks. The role requires physical stamina, attention to safety, and the ability to operate cleaning equipment.

The person may need a NJ Black Seal Low Pressure Boiler License or obtain it within 1 year, and will follow district procedures for daily maintenance and security. This is a full-time, on-site position with annual performance evaluation.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred custodial/maintenance experience.
• Must follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Able to interact professionally with students, staff, parents and visitors.
• Current NJ Black Seal Low Pressure Boiler License or ability to secure within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Closes the building daily and ensures doors/windows are secure.
• Cleans, dusts, disinfects classrooms, offices, library, and common areas.
• Empty trash and manage waste disposal per regulations.
• Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms and kitchens and replenishes supplies.
• Operates cleaning equipment and performs minor repairs.
• Maintains clean floors and windows; reports major repairs.
• Performs grounds work and basic maintenance tasks.
• Ensures safety and environmental compliance and participates in annual evaluations.
