Job summary

River Grove School District 85-5 is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment inside and outside the facilities. The role reports to the Supervisor and is a full-time, 12-month position from 10:30 A.M.

to 7:00 P.M. Responsibilities include performing cleaning duties, supporting building events, assisting with setup and takedown, ensuring building security, and reporting concerns to the Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Ability to use a computer, including accessing Gmail.
• Previous custodian experience preferred.
• TB test required; initial exam paid by the District; periodic exams every three years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleaning of assigned areas in and around the building.
• Support events, setup and takedown for groups with building access.
• Ensure building security, including doors, windows, and environmental controls.
• Report concerns to the Supervisor and assist after-hours Board meetings.
• Work with students and staff in a positive, cooperative manner.
