Job summary

Corvallis School District is seeking an entry-level custodian to maintain district buildings and grounds, ensuring safety, cleanliness and functional spaces for students, staff and the community. The role covers cleaning tasks, security checks, and event setup across multiple locations.

The position is 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with a 2:30 pm–11 pm shift available, and a regular/ probationary contract. Benefits are included; starting date ASAP. Applicants review September 9, 2026.

Qualifications

• Ability to independently organize and carry out work assignments.
• Follow district protocols for building and grounds maintenance and cleaning, including safe handling of cleaning materials.
• Ability to understand the building/program's goals and carry out work accordingly.
• Ability to implement district procedures for safe operation of building systems.
• Ability to interact effectively with staff, students and the public.

Responsibilities

• Ensure assigned areas of district buildings and grounds are clean, safe, secure and in good repair.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and disinfecting surfaces.
• Assist in setting up, maintaining and restoring spaces for daily use and events.
• Conduct routine security checks of buildings and grounds, often during nighttime hours.
• Monitor cleanliness and organization of custodial closets and supplies.
