Job summary

Chandler Unified School District in Chandler, AZ is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain a safe, clean school environment with a 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM schedule. The position offers full-time benefits and a salary of $19.01 per hour, with eligibility for annual performance pay and a strong focus on facility upkeep.

As a custodian, you will perform floor care, window cleaning, minor maintenance, and safety inspections, following district policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English as it pertains to job functions.
• Previous custodial experience desired.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, vacuum, scrub, wax, and polish the floors and surfaces
• Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment
• Cleans assigned areas to prescribed standards and requirements
• Empty trash receptacles
• Perform minor repairs
• Move furniture and equipment based on the needs of the facility
• Replace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance
• Inspect all fire equipment on campus and maintain records of inspection
• Report safety/security hazards and needs for major repairs in an expeditious manner
• Secures the facility, ensuring building is locked/unlocked as required
• Handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff
• Follow district policies as outlined
• Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed by supervisors
