Job summary

Higley Unified School District 60 in Gilbert, Arizona is seeking a Custodian (Full-Time) – Evenings to clean and maintain school facilities. The role covers daily cleaning, event setup, and campus security responsibilities with an emphasis on safety and confidentiality.

The position starts immediately, offers a full-time 12-month schedule, and pays $16.93 to $19.92 per hour. Strong physical fitness and background checks are required; driving may be involved.

Qualifications

• High School Education preferred.
• Effective communicator who works harmoniously with children and adults.
• Good physical condition with the ability to walk a substantial distance during shift.
• First Aid Trained preferred.
• Ability to pass background and reference checks as stipulated by District standards.
• A valid driver's license and/or a CDL, if driving is required as part of your position description.
• IVP Valid Fingerprint Card.

Responsibilities

• Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
• Responsible for the cleaning of the facility on a daily basis, including windows, dusting, sweeping and mopping hard surface floors, vacuuming carpeted areas, sinks, toilets, hallways, walls, desks, and chairs. Cleans cafeteria floor after lunch.
• Removes trash from classrooms, outdoor receptacles, and cafeteria and takes out to dumpster.
• Secures campus doors and gates at end of day.
• Cleans up biohazards in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Conducts thorough and more detailed cleaning during school breaks and summer.
• Sets up and takes down equipment needed for sporting events and other campus events.
• Must safeguard confidentiality of information stored and discussed in areas for which this position has access.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
