Job summary

Washington County Public Schools in Hancock, MD seeks a full-time Custodian for the 2nd shift at Hancock Middle/High School. You will perform cleaning, waxing, sweeping, and routine maintenance to keep the building in top condition.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, shovel snow, and follow written or oral instructions. Prior commercial cleaning or related maintenance experience is preferred; 12-month work year, 8 hours per day.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to follow oral or simple written instructions.
• Regular and predictable attendance is essential and required.

Responsibilities

• Perform operations such as scrubbing, mopping, sweeping, waxing, dusting, and other custodial tasks.
• Provide a presence to deter vandalism and maintain security of school facilities.
• Assist with and/or perform minor maintenance and repairs as directed.
