Job summary

Washington County Public Schools in Maryland is seeking a Custodian for Williamsport Elementary School. The role runs 8 hours per day, 12 months per year, on the 2nd shift, reporting to the Facilities Operations Manager.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent education/experience.
Ability to perform manual tasks including climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 lbs, and operating equipment.
Ability to follow oral or simple written instructions.
Willingness to participate in in-service training.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

Perform cleaning tasks such as scrubbing, mopping, sweeping, waxing, and dusting.
Provide a presence to deter theft and protect school property.
Inspect heating/AC systems as required.
Assist with minor emergency repairs.
Clean and maintain the school grounds.
Keep records and inventory of custodial supplies.
Demonstrate courteous demeanor to all stakeholders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
