Job summary

Dedham Public Schools District Wide is seeking a Custodian for the 3pm–11pm shift at Dedham High School. Immediate start, full-time, non-exempt status. Applicant should be prepared to perform cleaning tasks, restroom sanitation, light maintenance, and security checks.

Position requires lifting up to 55 lbs, climbing ladders up to 16 feet, and flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed. Citizenship/residency or work visa required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to perform the essential job functions.
• Effective interpersonal skills required.
• Effective grooming skills required.
• Ability to lift 55 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to push/pull a minimum of 20 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Perform major cleaning tasks (vacuum, wet-m mop, sweep, dust, empty trash, clean chalkboards and disinfect drinking fountains).
• Clean restrooms and fixtures; ensure sanitation.
• Wash windows and sills; replace light bulbs; set up facilities for use.
• Make minor building repairs or report major repairs to Head Custodian.
• Work overtime and weekends to meet District schedules.
• Ensure doors/windows are locked and navigate stairs regularly.
