Job summary

This hands‑on leadership role assigns duties, monitors performance, maintains sanitation records, trains staff on safety and chemical handling, and coordinates with production to keep the factory clean, safe, and ready for the next shift.

Qualifications

• Leadership and people-management experience preferred
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and safety practices (GMP/food-safety) preferred
• Ability to train and coach staff on sanitation and chemical safety

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the PM sanitation team throughout the shift.
• Assign daily sanitation duties and communicate expectations clearly.
• Ensure all equipment, tools, areas, floors, and drains are cleaned and sanitized.
• Inspect completed work and require recleaning when standards are not met.
• Verify employees follow cleaning, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures.
• Ensure chemicals are labeled, stored, diluted, and used properly.
• Confirm the use of required personal protective equipment.
• Train staff on sanitation procedures, chemical safety, equipment cleaning, and safety rules.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and work quality.
• Address performance concerns and report to management.
• Complete sanitation logs, checklists, and chemical records.
• Coordinate with production on cleaning schedules and areas needing attention.
• Prevent cross-contamination by following allergen-control procedures.
• Maintain organized chemical storage and sanitation-supply areas.
• Participate in inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
• Follow GMP, food-safety, and workplace-safety policies.
• Lead by example and ensure duties are completed on time.
