Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during weekend shifts, ensuring optimal patient care delivery across departments such as ICU, emergency medicine, long-term care, assisted living, and pediatrics.
• Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, physical examinations, and medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems like Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
• Manage medication administration, IV infusions, catheter care, tube feeding, and sterile procedures while maintaining aseptic techniques.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing, medical imaging coordination, and diagnostic evaluation documentation.
• Ensure infection control protocols are followed and implement infection prevention strategies.
• Facilitate discharge planning, case management, utilization review/management, and compliance with NCQA standards.
• Provide leadership in emergency situations such as airway management, ventilator use, cardiac catheterization procedures, or spinal taps.
• Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies.
• Support staff development through training on ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, DRG documentation, and other medical terminology.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care tailored to patients with diverse needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's/memory care, behavioral health issues, neonatal ventilator management, or working with people with disabilities.
