Job summary

Noland Health Services in Birmingham, AL is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to supervise and coordinate nursing staff during the 3p-11p shift. You will direct daily nursing operations, ensure care plans are followed, and participate in resident care activities according to physician orders.

You will assess, plan, treat and document resident care, communicate with physicians, families, and staff, and ensure compliance with facility policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered RN license in Alabama.
• CPR certification required.
• Computer skills and ability to use appropriate software.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day nursing functions of LPNs, MACs and CNAs on designated units during the shift, ensuring care follows the plan.
• Provide resident care including assessments, planning, treatments, medications, interventions and documentation of response.
• Communicate with physicians and staff about resident status, admissions and shift activities; report conditions to oncoming staff.
• Make rounds with physicians as needed and document care and treatment as indicated.
• Review and transcribe physician orders per policy and ensure orders are executed.
• Meet with residents and/or family members; report problems to the Supervisor.
• Complete medication pass audits and counts; report discrepancies.
• Complete forms, records and reports as required.
• Coordinate resident activities with staff and inform about new admissions.
• Report discrepancies or issues regarding resident care to the Director of Nursing.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
