Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program (preferred CCNE, ACEN, NLNCNEA).
• Unencumbered RN license from the state board of nursing; multi-state licensure acceptable under the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Maintain department-specific competencies and certifications.
• Demonstrate competence in age- and population-specific nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents in all phases of preventive care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, educate residents, and implement other nursing interventions.
• Serve as charge nurse when required, delegating tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel within scope, competence, and care needs.
• Assist and support delegation to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care and address concerns.
• Operate within scope and standards of nursing practice, as outlined by the state Nurse Practice Act and American Nurses Association.
